1peter 4:9-11 “ Be hospitable one to another without grumbling.
According as each has received a gift, be ministering it
Among yourselves, as good stewards of the grace of God in it’s various
forms. If any man speaks, let it be as it were oracles of God. If
any man serves, let it be as of the strength which God supplies, that in
all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the
glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Core Values
Christ's sacrifice on the Cross was more than enough to wash away
Our sins and give us full access to God.
Members of the Unity in Christ share in the following core values
Of U.I.C:
Knowing God: We recognize the primary importance of a personal
intimate relationship with the Father through His Son, Jesus Christ,
above all other relationships or activities. (Philippians 3:8)
Prayer and the Presence of God: We maintain that regular times of
prayer are indispensable in the sustaining of our relationship with
God; that valuing and living in God's presence and walking in deep
Intimacy with Him are vital for all ministry, and that in fact, our ministry
to the world results from the outflow of our communion with the Father.
(John 5:19)
Dependent on God - "By Prayer" and in faith we depend on God for
the provision of all our needs. We will demonstrate diligence, integrity,
sharing, and accountability in cultivating and using the resources
God provides.
Pursuit of God: We believe that salvation through Christ is only
the beginning, and that the entire life of the believer must be a
purposeful pursuit of greater depths of relationship with the Father. We hunger
and thirst for more of Christ to be revealed in our lives and ministry,
for His glory. (Psalm 63:1-3, Jeremiah 29:13)
Integrity: We acknowledge the fundamental importance of personal
integrity in moral, financial and relational matters as foundational
to all ministry as we endeavor to live out the truth of the Word of God
humbly and consistently in every area of our lives. (Ephesians 4:17-32)
Humility: Recognizing that all we are and all we have comes from
Him, we choose to walk in humility with God and one another, knowing that
all glory and honor belongs to Him alone. In humility, considering others
better than ourselves, we choose to look not only to our own interests,
but also to the interests of others. (Philippians 2:1-11)
Compassion: According to the Word of God, we believe that to
profess Christ and the truth of the gospel without demonstrating compassion
for the poor and the destitute of the earth is to render our message of ?none effect?. As believers involved in the carrying out of the Great Commission, we are to extend tangible mercy and compassion for the physical as well as spiritual needs of believers and unbelievers alike. (Isaiah 58: 6-10, James 1:27)
Unity: Jesus prayed that we would be one as He is one with the
Father (John 17:21 -23). Oneness with Him, His purposes and one another
releases the greater power of unity: " five of you shall chase a
hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight. "(Lev.26:8). As God's people, we are to reflect His oneness in life, truth and power, sharing a defined set of interests, objectives and standards under the unction and leading of the Holy Spirit which binds all together in love.
A Christ like Community - We desire to be a transforming community
dedicated to becoming like Christ in love, servant hood, holiness,
and obedience to the Father. We believe that following Christ's example
means sacrifice, sometimes hardship, and perhaps even death.
Diversity: In national and ethnic origins, gift mix, worship
experience, negotiable doctrines and practices, our diverse styles
express His richness and glory. According to scripture, we welcome
the diversity of parts and functions that make up the entire body of
Christ and maintain that no part is insignificant, that the function and
flavour of each is not merely acceptable but indispensable in the
working out of His purposes in the earth and in the revealing of
Himself as a God of infinite variety and expression . (1 Corinthians 12: 4-31)
Generosity: Standing firmly upon the principle, ?freely as you have
received, freely give?, we hold fast to the conviction that our God
is more than enough, and is able to do abundantly above and beyond all
that we can ask or even think. That He is in fact at this very moment
waiting to pour out a blessing on his obedient servants ?so great that we
will not have room enough to contain it?. It is our view that this
conviction concerning the bounty of his supply should be evident in our
attitude, giving and service to a lost and dying world. (2 Corinthians 9:10-15)
Honor Code: We resolve to esteem one another of high value, to
Honor one another in word and deed always, to allow the love of Christ
within each of us to cover over the weaknesses in others while at the same
time affirming one another continually and according one another the
inestimable value inherent within the soul for which Christ gave His
life. (Romans 12:10)
Committed to Biblical Truth - We are committed to biblical truth
And joyfully affirm historic, evangelical Christianity. With courage, we
declare to the nations the good news of new life in Jesus Christ.
Our ministry is based on scripture found in James 1:27 "Pure
Religion and undefiled before God and father is this to visit the fatherless
and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the
world".
Psalms chapter 41 verses 1-3 “happy are those who are concerned for
the poor; the lord will help them when they are in trouble the lord will
protect them & preserve their lives. He will make them happy in the
land he will not abandon them to the power of their enemies. The lord will
help them when they are sick & will restore them to health .
Matthew: 25:35 “I was hungry and you fed me, thirsty and you gave
me a drink; I was a stranger and you received me in your homes, naked and
you clothed me; I was sick and you took care of me, in prison and you
visited me.
Galatians 6:2 “Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law
of Christ .
